Kaktus, 2013 ceramic 4” x 4” x 5.5” Kaktus is a planter that was created to represent plants from the desert. The patterned surface portrays the image of the defensive mechanisms in cacti. The process for the final piece starts from building a model on a CAD program and printing to make a plaster mold. Through slip casting, I was able to taste the industry of production.
Asterix, 2013 plywood, walnut, aluminum 9.5” x 48” x 10” In the ventures of finding something elegant, the movement of a line intrigued me. This project started as a materials study in how wood can be bent. Through many attempts and executions of methods, the elegance was represented in the discreet curve of the material.
Motorola Z-100, 2013 CAD 1.25” x 2.25” x 6.3” Motorola Z-100 is a Push-To-Talk Walkie Talkie that is easy to use. Different from most PTT devices, the z100 is stylish and is designed for comfort and accessibility. The accent color that the LED screen and buttons gives the consumer the opportunity for self-expression.
